Planned Giving
The YMCA Legacy

Welcome to the Channel Islands YMCA's
gift planning website. We invite you to become a member of the Heritage Club, a dedicated group of individuals and families who have made a contribution to the endowment or provided for the Y in their estate plans.

The YMCA is a professionally managed organization, guided by volunteers and founded on four core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Since 1844, the Y has responded to the changing needs in our communities. When you give to the Y, your gift will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood and at your own Y branch. The longevity of the organization and the significant impact made in individual's lives is possible only through gifts from prior generations. To continue this amazing work, the Channel Islands YMCA relies on future gifts.

What is gift planning?
Many friends of the Y choose to help by gifting accumulated assets to the Y upon their passing. Donors can also give gifts of cash directly to the Y endowment. However, you do not have to have ready cash to make a gift. A commitment of a gift to be made in the future is also an important option. Gift planning is typically done through provisions in a will or trust. Other gift planning options include securities or real estate, life insurance policies, beneficiary designations of an IRA or other tax-deferred retirement accounts, as well as charitable trusts or gift annuities. In addition, to encourage philanthropic giving, many gift vehicles provide donors with tax incentives.

What is the Heritage Club?
Individuals and families who have made a meaningful gift to the Y through their estate plan, or made an outright cash gift of $1,000 or more to the Y endowment program, are recognized for their generosity and become members of the Heritage Club. For more information, visit the Heritage Club page.

How do I make a gift plan?
Much of the information you need as you make a decision to provide for the YMCA in your estate plan can be found right here. In particular, you can visit the Gift Options section to read more on what to give and how to give. When you are ready and make us aware of your philanthropic objectives, we will work with you and your professional experts to fulfill your desire to benefit future generations of children and families through the work of the YMCA.

How do I get started?
The Y welcomes the opportunity to confidentially discuss any of these options with you. Feel free to contact Jill Rode, CFRE, Chief Financial Development Officer, for assistance.
